Abstract: In the 21th century, ushered in the fourth industrial revolution, promoted the development of digital technology, the advent of intelligent technology, so that the world economy is reinvigorated. Digital economy is developing at an unprecedented speed, with a wide range of radiation and an unprecedented depth of influence. Even in this context, as the main body of industrial transformation and upgrading, enterprises still face more uncertainty and complexity of the environment. In view of this situation, the Chinese government closely follows the pace of The Times, proposes the construction of "digital China", and takes digitization as the leading force in the development of digital economy. Letting digitization lead Chinese enterprises to achieve qualitative growth. Based on the above background, this paper studies the impact of Chinese enterprises' digital transformation on enterprise performance. From the list of A-share companies from 2010 to 2020, we collected the keywords of "digital transformation (DT)" in the annual reports of enterprises. With a quantitative analysis method and empirical analysis, digital transformation’s impact on enterprise performance is verified. It is concluded that DT has a positive effect on improving enterprise performance. Innovation capability shows the positive effect of DT on the performance or enterprises. The study result shows a way how to carry out DT of companies.

Abstract: With the rapid penetration of emerging digital technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, cloud computing and mobile Internet at all levels of the economy and society, human society is accelerating into the era of digital economy. The deep integration of digital technologies with the real economy and the resulting reconfiguration of value creation logic have provided new momentum for high-quality economic and social development. Under the new wave of industrial technology revolution, more and more enterprises are making digital transformation a core strategy for establishing a new competitive advantage and achieving sustainable organisational growth. The application of digital technology has led to a profound change in the way social resources are allocated. The application of digital technology has triggered profound changes in the way society allocates resources and has further influenced all aspects of innovation activities. So, based on the data of A-share manufacturing enterprises listed in China from 2016 to 2020, we constructed a mediating effect model to empirically test the digital technology application on enterprise innovation and the intermediary effect through the slack. The results show that the application of digital technology has a significant facilitating effect on innovation. Secondly, slack has a significant mediating effect on the relationship between digital technology applications and enterprise innovation. Thirdly, the mediating effect of the application of digital technology on enterprise innovation through slack is significantly lower than the direct effect.

Abstract: With the rapid development of "Internet +", the current supply and demand of real estate have changed. The introduction of big data technology to analyze the demographic structure and real estate market-related information improves the scientific nature of real estate investment decisions. Scientifically defining the guiding role of population structure on real estate development investment is helpful to promote the coordinated development of real estate industry. Based on this, we build a theoretical model of the real estate development investment data analysis support system by selecting the panel data of each province from 2002 to 2018 and using the econometric model. The impact of population structure is tested on real estate investment from the national level and sub-regional level. The specific effect of population structure is also analyzed on investment under the urbanization rate. The research result shows that the total dependency ratio of the population and the youth dependency ratio is negatively correlated with real estate development investment at the national level. The elderly dependency ratio is positively correlated with real estate development investment. At the regional level, the elderly dependency ratio is only in the central region. As a positive impact, the juvenile dependency ratio affects real estate development investment, but the degree of influence is different. From the perspective of the urbanization process, the higher the urbanization rate, the less binding the juvenile dependency ratio on real estate development investment. In view of this, from the perspective of population structure, suggestions are put forward on the supply-side structural reform of the real estate industry.

Abstract: This study examines the role of Ghana’s macro environmental factors on the entrepreneurial motivation of self-employed ethnic migrants. It analyses the effect of context on motivation, by focusing on the six PESTLE variables, as predictors for each of the eight distinct dimensions of entrepreneurial motivation factors, identified through an initial factor analysis of the generated survey data. We tested five hypotheses to determine the association between macro-environmental factors, and the entrepreneurial motivation of the respondents. Following data analysis and interpretation, two hypotheses comprising H2, and H3 were supported. Thus, our results show a statistically significant positive correlation between Ghana’s economic environment (i.e. H2), including its social context (i.e. H3), and the self-employment entrepreneurial motivation of the study’s respondents, as hypothesised. However, three hypotheses, consisting of H1, H4, and H5, were partially supported. The new insights derived from the findings constitute this paper’s contribution to the existing knowledge, and the entrepreneurship literature. Also, the paper’s scope and focus positions it as one of the first studies, or probably it could be the first study that has empirically analysed the impact of Ghana’s macro-contextual factors on the entrepreneurial motivation of internal ethnic migrant entrepreneurs. Furthermore, our exclusive focus on external macro-environmental factors contained in PESTLE models, which were rigorously analysed to determine their impact on entrepreneurial motivation, is a departure from the frequent analysis of the personality of entrepreneurs, and internal factors within an enterprise. Thus, from the ensuing, we make both a methodological contribution, and additions to the structural theory approach of entrepreneurship.

Abstract: The increased advancements in technological integration within the financial sector has led to development of new credit platforms which improve access to borrowing among the youth. Further, with proliferation of digital lending platforms which provide unsecured loans has led to a debt chokehold among the youth. This has resulted in poor financial health among the youth. Hence it’s vital to understand how various digital credit platforms have contributed to financial health of borrowers and help in advancing policy and practical solutions. The general objective of the study was to analyze the effect of digital credit on the financial health of youth borrowers in Kibera, Nairobi County. The study specifically analysed the effects of mobile network operator facilitated digital credit, commercial bank-based digital credit and fintech based digital credit on the financial health of youth borrowers in Kibera, Nairobi County. The study employed a correlational research design. The population of interest was youth borrowers who live and work in Kibera, Nairobi County. The sampling frame was active users of digital credit who are between 18 and 35 years, residing in Kibera. The list was obtained from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission’s voter register for Kibera Ward. A stratified sampling technique was used to select the respondents. The sample size was 399 respondents. Data was collected using structured questionnaires. SPSS was used to aid in the data analysis. A descriptive statistical technique of analysis was used and entailed the determination of the mean and frequency distribution of the datasets. Further inferential analysis was conducted using both correlation and regression analysis. The data was presented in tables and figures. The study results shows that mobile network operator facilitated digital credit, Bank-facilitated digital credit and fintech facilitated digital credit has a positive and significant effect on youth’s financial health in Kibera Ward. The study recommends that mobile money operators that provide digital loans reduce their operation rates considering they have high interest rates for the small loans they offer. The study also calls for the development of progressive peer to peer regulations that would improve the penetration of these loan devices. The study recommends improved client assessment to increase borrower’s ability to access funds without long-term history. The study recommends that the firms make attempts to guarantee interoperability between devices as this would significantly improve access for borrowers with older phones.

Abstract: The study was based on the theory of constraints which acknowledges that bottlenecks are systemic, unavoidable, and affect the performance of the organisational supply chain processes. In the study, poor inventory and collaboration management were identified as bottlenecks in the transportation fuel retail sector. Thus, identifying the indicators of poor fuel supply chain performance can assist the industry in achieving a sustainable performance. In the descriptive design, the researchers distributed objective questionnaires among fuel industry supply chain staff whose roles include inventory and collaboration management decisions which are strategic to supply chain performance. The respondents gave their views on the effect of selected inventory and collaboration management indicators on supply chain performance. The analysed results indicate that there is a positive relationship between both inventory and collaboration management and the fuel supply chain performance. These findings led to the conclusion that, achieving supply chain performance goals of profitability, customer satisfaction, internal process effectiveness and company growth requires management to implement inventory and collaboration management strategies. Therefore, fuel industry supply chain stakeholders including government, fuel companies, fuel suppliers, customers and third party logistics service providers need to cooperate and work together to pull the struggling fuel industry from the doldrums.

Abstract: The performance of SMEs in The Gambia is very poor; a possible solution is to provide mentoring service to them. Mentoring is the function of nurturing and supporting by providing SMEs with professional skills development, and moral support to positively impact on the business sustainability. This study empirically investigates the basic profile of agricultural business mentoring, the skill sets; and to represent the importance of the skills as represented in the model and to understand the mentoring for start-up business in the country. Semi structured questionnaires with reference to literature studies from other countries were used to gather data. Data was collected from staffs and sample size of 100 respondents from the agro-enterprises was identified, out of which 62 were received. Results indicated that limited numbers of female staffs were involved in agro-enterprises. The results revealed some average relationship between educational level and entrepreneurial skills are significantly correlated. It was suggested that there is need for an efficient, effective and advisory service for training if people are to start a small business in the country successfully. In conclusion, we suggested that the authorities, private organizations and non-governmental organizations to help strengthen their support in term of entrepreneurial skills training, encouragement, and finance to the individuals and groups. Also establishment of mentoring organization and entrepreneurship training as well as innovative skills in all high and tertiary institutions in the country to put into consideration.
